On The Day Coordination – What does it involve?

As you know Poni is new in the industry and whilst the business might be new we are definitely not lacking in experience, passion, professionalism or ideas. We had so much fun answering all your questions on our Instagram last week that we asked if you would be interested in blog posts! We were overwhelmed with the amount of “yyuuusss” ‘s we got so here goes it!

Why not start off by blogging about On the Day Coordination. So far on the day coordination has been the most enquired about service with Poni so we thought lets talk through what exactly that involves, what we do and why couples might need it.

On the day coordination is our one day 10 hour service where an expert comes and manages the day. We lift the weight of the day off not only the couples shoulders, but off their family and friends as well. We save you stress and importantly we save you time.

You spend months or even years planning a wedding (lets face it, brides have probably been thinking about their big day since they were tiny), you find your dream location, you design the most expensive dress you’ll ever wear, you consider every single detail; from the invites, to the flowers, to your event signage, playlist for the dfloor and absolutely every single thing in between. They say you can spend over 250 hours on the biggest day of your life. You spend so much time considering all of this and then the day is actually on the horizon…. You think; wait, who’s going to pick up my hired welcome sign, who is going to make sure its in the right spot, who’s going to move my ceremony flowers and repurpose them in the reception, who’s going to tell the stylists how to set the tables the way I’d envisaged, and who’s going to put my name tags out in the right spots. Who can problem solve if something goes wrong? Who can I rely on to just ensure that my meticulously planned wedding is going to go exactly how I want it to? This is when a coordinator for the day relieves you of all of that plus those 3am stresses that keep you rolling about in your bed all night.

A coordinator is there for you and for your day from start to finish. We get there and we manage your set up, styling, we oversee your suppliers. This allows them to concentrate on the field you have hired them for. We iron out any bumps. We assist with guests, arrivals, departures, buses, we make sure the bride has everything she needs and that the groom doesn’t need anything. We help the bride tribe, mum and dad, nan, pa. But we are also guided by you. By those 3am messages and insta DM’s we get. As coordinators whilst we seamlessly blend in and ensure all the basic and obvious things run smoothly, every wedding is different so you tell us about all your other elements and all the little details and we will be all over it.

Our on the day coordination package will include a catch up to go over everything. We will liase with your suppliers, help you develop timelines and run sheets. You will hand over all of your on-the-day items, we set up, style and coordinate all areas of your wedding as per your requirements. It is a 10 hour package with the option to extend per hour as you require.
